Description

Delicious homemade gingerbread cookies, perfect for the holidays!


Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1 egg yolk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream the butter and brown sugar until fluffy. Mix in molasses and egg yolk.
  4. Gradually combine dry ingredients with wet until a dough forms. Chill if sticky.
  5. Roll dough into tablespoon-sized balls and place on a lined baking sheet. Flatten slightly.
  6. Bake for 10–12 minutes until lightly golden. Cool before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier cookie, consider adding more ground ginger or cinnamon.
