- 1 pound ground beef (halal, of course!)
- 1 cup uncooked long-grain white rice
- 2 cups beef broth (or vegetable broth for a lighter option)
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella work well)

- 1 teaspoon onion powder

- to taste Salt and pepper
- to taste sliced green onions
- to taste extra cheese
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to get it ready for baking.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until it’s fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.
- Add diced onions to the skillet and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked beef and onions with the uncooked rice, beef broth, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir until well mixed.
- Pour the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish and spread it evenly.
- Generously sprinkle the shredded cheese on top.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
- Once it’s out of the oven, let it sit for a few minutes before serving. Top with sliced green onions if desired.
